Lionel 381e Electric 4-4-4 Standard Gauge LocomotiveContact me if you are interested in selling Clean Lionel Standard Gauge Trains Lionel created quite a "toy" in 1928 through 1936 with the creation of the Huge 381e Locomotive. It was an electric locomotive with a 4-4-4 wheel configuration. It came in two color schemes, the State Green colors which included an apple green sub frame like the one pictures here. It also came in The State green color with a red sub frame. The Lionel 381e headed up the very collectable State set which is pictures below with ivory windows, The Lionel 381e was the largest and heaviest locomotive produced by Lionel. This standard Gauge Locomotive has a Standard Gauge engine and two sets of Guide wheels on either side of the Drive wheels. These original wheels are almost always found swollen due to poor casting quality and can be readily replaced by modern replacements. This is not considered to really affect the value of the Lionel 381e because almost every one requires replacement.
